Coalition

About the Coalition

The goal of CEED@Chicago is to prevent and reduce the burden of diabetes and CVD among the Hispanic/Latino and African American populations in Chicago , starting with five target communities and extending to the Chicago metropolitan area, the Midwest region and eventually the United States . CEED@Chicago is building a multi-sector coalition of organizations dedicated to changing the social determinants that are needed to reach this goal. This coalition is coming together to catalyze system changes through policy change.

The CEED@Chicago Coalition is composed of businesses, institutions and individuals representing local government, health professionals, academic institutions, community and professional organizations, and faith leaders. It meets quarterly. In 2009, meetings will be held on February 17, May 12, August 11, and November 10. Times and locations are yet to be determined. CEED@Chicago Coalition meetings are open to the public. Potential members and interested individuals may contact Charles Williams, cwilli54@uic.edu for more information.
