The Mission and Role of CEED@Chicago
Our Mission: To contribute to the elimination of health disparities in diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) among African Americans and Hispanics/Latinos through community engagement, community and systems change, and dissemination of best practices.
CEED@Chicago believes that the involvement and experiences of community organizations and institutions is critical to the elimination of disparities that impact health. By building a wide coalition, sharing and disseminating best and promising practices, and supporting new initiatives, we hope to achieve our ambitious mission.
CEED@Chicago is working to build a wide coalition of organizations to improve the social determinants influencing the health of Hispanic/Latino and African American communities in the Chicago metropolitan area, the Midwest region, and eventually the U.S. This coalition is coming together to change policy, leverage resources and implement system changes that will shape the living conditions and the food and physical activity resources in these communities.
